Theodore York (2009 Kearsney Head boy) spoke with authority and lots of heart at their recent Speech Day.
Robert Gifford (2005) has been appointed the Michaelhouse 2010 Head boy.
Brett Millar (2004) received the Edwin Henwood Trophy and the Geography Prize in addition to Academic Honours at Kearsney. Brett has also been warded a full bursary and training contract.
Mitchell Green (2008) (currently at Michaelhouse) came in the Top 100 in South Africa (out of approximately 8000 candidates) in the 2nd round of the National Junior Maths Olympiad; an outstanding achievement. He will participate in the final round on 8 September 2009. (Posted August 2009)
Wayne Madsen wrote himself into the Derbyshire history books as his team closed in on victory over
Gloucestershire. Unbeaten on 71 overnight, the 25 year old South African was 170 not out when the visitors declared their second innings on 323 for 6. It was the highest score by a Derbyshire player
on debut in a first-class match, beating the 155 made by Peter Bowler against Cambridge University at Fenners in 1988.

Stephen Peel (2006) is on exchange this term at Trinity College in Toronto Canada and Drew Johnston (2006) goes to Wanganui Collegiate in Wanganui, New Zealand for the third term.

Andrew King (2004) and David Strachan (2004) have been appointed prefects at Michaelhouse.
Three Highbury Old Boy’s participated in the recent SA Men’s Hockey Inter Provincial Tournament:
KZN ‘A’: Lloyd Madsen (1999); Tim Drummond (2001)
WP 'B': Scott Fraser (1996)
All three of these boys were 1st team Hockey Captains at Highbury.
Tim Drummond (2001) was a member of the SA U21 hockey team that was recently crowned "Champions of Africa" at the Africa World Cup Qualifying tournament in Eygpt.
Ryan Cloete (2004) and Martin Rohwer (2006) made the KZN "A" golf team. (Posted August 2008)
Brian Cox (2003) and Nicholas Meyer (2003) received top achiever awards at Michaelhouse for 2008. Andrew Gilliam and David Shorten (2003) took the best Trial results trophy at Hilton College, Dane Merrick (2003) won four coveted subject prizes and William Randles(2003) won the top award for Dramatic Arts. Llewellyn Surajballi at his Medical School inaugration in August 2008 was awarded two scholarships. Llewellyn was Dux at Highbury in 1997 and as a young boy at Highbury had a vision of being a doctor someday. He currently holds a BSc with majors in Cell Biology and Genetics. Highbury wishes him well with his studies as he plans to graduate with his MD in 2010. (Posted December 2008)
