Highbury offers a wonderful aftercare environment,
where boys from Grade 000 to Grade 3 are supervised by a qualified
care-giver until 5.30pm daily. This extra is available either
on a permanent or casual basis and is charged hourly.
- The Aftercare facility is housed on the Highbury property, opposite the Foundation Phase office.
- Aftercare is open from 12h30 to 17h30 Monday to Friday
during term time, however please note that on half-term Fridays and the last day of term, the facility will close at 13.00
- Grades 000 and 00 children are escorted to the Aftercare facility by a teacher.
- Grade R boys attending Aftercare will remain in their area
until 12h45, when a teacher is available to escort the boys to the facility
- A light, healthy lunch plus liquid refreshment will be
provided for all boys below Grade 3. Grade 3 boys eat lunch
in the Dinning hall at 13h00 each day. Another snack will
be provided during the afternoon.
- Suitable indoor and outdoor activities will be provided
subject to the weather conditions.
- A daily registrar will be taken and parents will be required
to sign out their son each day
- Boys must change into their play blues for Aftercare (Grade
1 to 3)
- Preference of place will be given to boys who require permanent/regular
aftercare
- Two weeks notice must be given before the end of term,
otherwise it will be presumed that your son will be attending
aftercare for the duration of the next term (i.e. Permanent
bookings)
- Caregivers will assist with homework, but parents are expected
to check homework books.
Aftercare Fee Structure 2009 (Pre-Primary and Foundation
Phase):
1st hour (including lunch) R18.00
Thereafter R8.00 per hour or part thereof
The Foundation Phase secretary must be notified before 09h00
on the day that you wish your son to attend Aftercare as a casual
participant.
Please note a fee of R38.00 per 15 minutes or part thereof will
be levied from 17h30 onwards.
