As parents, the choice of school for your children is probably one of the most significant decisions that you have to make. Thank you for visiting our website as the initial step to finding the school that is right for you and your child. We would like you to visit the school, meet the Headmaster, pupils and teachers at work and thus gain a real feel for the school's quality surroundings and atmosphere. If you decide you would like your child to attend Highbury
or the Weavers' Nest please start the process by following these steps:-
- Fill out the application form
- Pay the registration fee of R550.00 (2010
rate) which can be done via EFT or cheque. Highbury's banking details
are as follows: Standard Bank, Account Name: Highbury School, Hillcrest Branch: 045726, Acc. No: 052 017 346.
- Send completed application form and proof of payment to
the Admissions Secretary via email: admissions@hps.co.za
, fax: 031 765 9838 or delivery to Main Reception (where possible
please send the following with the form:
birth certificate, latest report and any assessment reports).
- You will receive written confirmation that your details
will be entered onto the database.
- Depending on which year you have applied for:

Applicants for the Weavers’ Nest will receive correspondence from Highbury the year prior to entry. You will be invited to the Open Morning where additional information and forms will be received. In April of that year parents will be informed if their son / daughter has been accepted, or put on the waitlist. A fee will be required to confirm acceptance of the space offered. If acceptance is declined or the fee unpaid, the next candidate on the waitlist will be notified. Should your application be unsuccessful it will automatically be rolled over to the next year. If the application is for a boy it will be forwarded for his appropriate Grade R entry year.

Applicants for Grade R will receive correspondence from Highbury the year prior to entry. You will be invited to the Open Morning where additional information and forms will be received. The applicant will be assessed in June of that year. Parents will be notified in July if their son has been accepted, or put on the waitlist. A fee will be required to confirm acceptance of the space offered. If acceptance is declined or the fee unpaid, the next candidate on the waitlist will be notified. Should your application be unsuccessful it will automatically be rolled over to the next year.

Applicants for Foundation Phase (Grade 1 – 3) will receive correspondence from Highbury the year prior to entry. You will be invited to the Open Morning where additional information and forms will be received. The applicant will be assessed in August of that year. Parents will be notified shortly after assessments have taken place as to whether their son has been accepted, or put on the waitlist. A fee will be required to confirm acceptance of the space offered. Should your application be unsuccessful it will automatically be rolled over to the next year.

Applicants for Senior Primary (Grade 4 – 7) will receive correspondence from Highbury the year prior to entry. You will be invited to the Open Morning where additional information and forms will be received. The applicant will be assessed in August of that year. Parents will be notified shortly after assessments have taken place as to whether their son has been accepted, or put on the waitlist. A fee will be required to confirm acceptance of the space offered. Should your application be unsuccessful it will automatically be rolled over to the next year.
Should you apply late in the year and miss the relevant assessment, Highbury will look at accommodating you with a second assessment date. |
